Croatia officially name is the Republic of Croatia, it is a Southern Central European country at the crossroads between the Pannonia Plain and the Mediterranean Sea. Croatia borders with Slovenia and Hungary at the north, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the east, Montenegro to the far southeast and with Italy at the Adriatic Sea.
Zagreb is Croatian capital and it is also cultural centre. As well there are coastal Croatian towns  with well-preserved cultural heritage with lots to see like Rovinj, Pula, Rab, Zadar, Šibenik, Trogir, Split, Hvar, Korčula and Dubrovnik. Before 90ies beautiful Mediterranean landscapes attracted around 10 milion foreign visitors a year.

Tourism along Adriatic coast traditionally has been focused on combination of good climate, natural beauty, easy access, numerous seaside resorts, crystal clear sea, lush islands, quiet fishing villages, beautiful beaches, healthy couisine, world-known wines and rich history are some of the many treasures that make Croatia traveller's paradise.

Along the Adriatic coast there are numerous monuments of which UNESCO has listed six World Heritage Sites in Croatia: Dubrovnik, Diocletian's Palace in Split, the Plitvice Lakes, the Euphrasian Basilica in Poreč, Trogir and Šibenik Cathedral. Croatia is a member of the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the Council of Europe.

The country is also a Candidate for membership of the European Union and a member of NATO organization. Croatia is also a founding member of the Mediterranean Union.
